Central Oregon’s premier juried art and craft show returns to Bend in 2024

Art in the High Desert, Central Oregon’s highly acclaimed juried art and craft show, returns August 23-25. And for these three days, the banks of the Deschutes River within Riverbend Park will become one of the most eclectic and creative art spaces in the entire Pacific Northwest.

Featuring 150 juried artists selected from across North America, Art in the High Desert showcases the time-honored tradition of the individual artist. The person you see in the booth is the person who made the work. Attendees have the incredible opportunity to curate an even deeper connection to the art, the artists, and their processes. Notably, the high standard of quality made Art in the High Desert the tenth ranked art show in the nation for art sales in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

As mentioned, Art in the High Desert is back in Bend this year at Riverbend Park across from the Old Mill District. This move was made at the request of patrons and artists who, while liking the EXPO Center site, missed being along the banks of the Deschutes River. The longstanding AHD organizers listened to the input and are delighted to celebrate art back in the heart of Bend. Offering a plethora of paintings, jewelry, sculptures, woodwork and more, AHD is art for everyone and every budget, unique treasures for every home.

The Art in the High Desert board believes these four criteria ensure the high caliber of artwork presented at each year’s event:

  • Original thought and intent, going beyond the norm, the expected
  • Overall concept – extending further then just technique and materials
  • Demonstrated excellence in craftsmanship
  • Consistency of style and presentation
