Tara Mortenson, owner and beauty incubator, says the first rule of Radiant Day Spa is that if you feel good, you will look good.
“When people leave my spa, I want them to feel good from the inside out,” explains Mortenson.
This is why she has curated such a relaxing, rejuvenating and revitalizing space in the hustle and bustle of the Old Mill District. Focused on delivering massages, facials, peels, hair removal, lash lifting, waxing and healing, this premier spa’s most popular treatments are the Radiant Facial, Therapeutic Massage and Metabolic Peels (more suited for the fall and winter seasons).
Ancient techniques and practices are infused in each session for results driven treatment. This includes employing aestheticians versed in a catalog of modalities and using product lines like Cosmedix, Henne Organics, and iSun. Cosmedix is world renowned for its combination of powerful botanicals and retinals. iSun is known for its decadent organic body oils and aromatherapy.
During Radiant Day Spa’s next level facials, customers can look forward to diverse methods like lymphatic drainage, gua sha (working out the facia) and facial cupping.
Whether hot stones or aromatherapy lifts you to cloud nine, Mortenson says she wants people to come into Radiant Day Spa for self care, which can be different for everybody.
“We offer a little bit of everything, that way Radiant Day Spa can customize to each individual’s self care needs,” Mortenson says.
Outside of the spa world, creating community around self care has been Mortenson specialty. Her previous careers include owning businesses, practicing midwifery and home births, and teaching yoga for more than 20 years. Her path into healing through a spa medium began when she took a break from the corporate scene to attend aesthetic school: an extension of yoga training in her mind.
“Aesthetician school was originally for my own healing and knowledge, but now I get to combine all my teachings in self care to share with the public,” Mortenson adds.
Coming soon, Mortenson hopes to host self care and beauty conversations in the comfortable and posh front sitting room at Radiant Day Spa. Overlooking the Deschutes River and the Old Mill District from the second story, with warm and welcoming decor, this room mirrors (on a smaller scale) the Mountain Room at Deschutes Brewery. This amenity is sure to delight bridal and bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations and other quaint gatherings.
Mortenson’s authentic intentions to tailor self care to each client through the channel of Radiant Day Spa are novel and noble. Through her innovative approach, she hopes to attract those visiting Bend, as well as catering to a repeat local customer base. Visit her and start a personalized beauty conversation today!
