The Old Mill District, Bend Oregon’s dining, shopping and entertainment center, is changing minimum hours for its tenants starting January 6, 2020. New minimum open hours will now be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Prior to this change, shops were required to stay open until 8 p.m. on weeknights and Saturdays.
“We wanted to give our owners and managers the space to make the best decisions for their own business and employees,” said Noelle Fredland, marketing director for the Old Mill District. “People live in Bend for many different reasons, but one consistent theme is quality of life and enjoyment of all our region has to offer. Creating a more flexible environment for our tenants means that their employees can enjoy an extra hour in the evenings to enjoy the outdoors, their families and other pursuits.”
Early closure is optional, and some shops may choose to extend their evening hours depending on customer needs. Many stores will extend hours throughout the summer and around the holidays. Visitors to the Old Mill District will still be able to enjoy all the experiences the area has to offer and are encouraged to check with individual shops on store hours.
