What Is Personal Outfitting?

Personal outfitting is your chance to dive in deep with an expert. One of REI’s knowledgeable and passionate employees will set you up with what you need for your next trip or activity during a 1-on-1 session. Together you’ll dial in the logistics and gear needs for your next adventure

Who Should Get Outfitted?

Individuals and couples, retirees and families with toddlers in tow, beginners who are just getting started and experts pushing their limit – everyone can benefit from personal outfitting. Whether you have your sights set on climbing South Sister for the first time or bikepacking the Oregon Outback, we have an expert to equip you with the right gear and clothing.

How Does It Work?

Sign up for an appointment at REI’s website and provide them with some information about the reason for your visit.  Let them know if you’re preparing for a specific activity or headed to a particular destination. On the day of your appointment, bring any gear you already own and intend to use for your adventure and a gear list, if you have one.  Your outfitter will meet you at the front doors of the store and will be knowledgeable about the trip or activity you’re preparing for. We’re lucky here in Bend to have some of the most intrepid adventurers in the industry, and they’re excited to share their knowledge with you!
