Back to Summer in Bend Oregon

Bend is Here!

In Bend, summer fun includes a full array of shopping, dining on patios, and playing options. We put together 5 reasons of some of the summery things we are looking forward to as we get Back to Summer.

1. Les Schwab Amphitheater – Live Music is Here

There’s something about wide open skies and Bend Concerts at the Les Schwab Amphitheater.

Our 2016 Summer Concert Series began with a sold out Alabama Shakes show that simply dazzled all in attendance. The live music season continues with Slightly Stoopid, Ben Harper, Widespread Panic, Brandi Carlile, Jackson Browne, Michael Franti, Huey Lewis, Steve Miller Band and Need To Breathe.

The BMC Free Summer Sunday Concert Series features a variety of rocking bands on select dates in June and July. Bel Mizik, Five Pint Mary, Kinzel & Hyde, Summit Express and Kitchen Dwellers. Find all of the event specifics and beta you need to plan a great day.

2. Craft Beer is Here

What’s better than tasting beer from your favorite brewers with the beautiful Deschutes River flowing by? Here in the Old Mill District we have two very special events for lovers of malt, barley, and hops.

First up is the Fermentation Celebration, on Thursday, June 23. Local brewers are on hand to pour beer and talk hops with beer-loving fans aged 21 and older. Live music performances and an easygoing atmosphere make this event one of Bend’s surprising summertime gems.

The Bend Brewfest goes one gargantuan step further for three days of brewed bliss. The popular event draws beer aficionados as well as dance party revelers from all over the land to celebrate craft beer in Bend. Powered by over 1,000 volunteers the Bend Brewfest donates 10% of profits to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon, NeighborImpact and Deschutes River Conservancy. For the beer aficionado, the event provides the opportunity to sample beers that they cannot find in a bottle nor a pub. A curated selection of brewers add appeal to the XTAP which showcases special low-production offering.

3. Movie Blockbusters and Regal Summer Movie Express

Summer wouldn’t be summer without some popcorn worthy films. Fortunately we’ve got a great lineup of flicks including Finding Dory, Independence Day: Resurgence, The BFG, Ghostbusters, Jason Bourne, and others to escape the heat and have some fun.

The Regal Summer Movie express is a family friendly way to enjoy a morning movie. Make time for $1 movies on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10am with a weekly lineup that includes crowd-pleasing favorites for the young and young at heart.

4. Summertime Shopping

From sundresses and flip flops to gear for your next adventure, shopping in the Old Mill District makes finding something that suits your fancy easy breezy. Did you know that weekly sales and shopping discounts are regularly updated on our website? Visit this link for a first look at the latest deals from your favorite retailers.

5. Seasonal Menus and Drinks, Oh My

Strawberry Shortcake and seasonal sangria. Restaurant menus reflect the local bounty of ripe fruit and fresh catches and dining al fresco along the Deschutes River absolutely seals the deal. Be sure to check out Va Piano Wine Tasting Room, which opened in late May and just might be your next favorite hangout.
