The Tree of Joy project for 2020 is still being planned. Check back later for more info!

The Tree of Joy is a special project we’re again extremely proud to be a part of.

A partnership between the Salvation Army, the four Rotary Clubs of Bend and the Old Mill District, the Tree of Joy – located in SantaLand in the Old Mill District – was created to ensure that every child in Central Oregon experiences the joy of Christmas.

The Salvation Army screens and selects children and families who are eligible for participation, and a tag is then put on the Tree of Joy. Rotarians and other citizens of Bend then take the tag and purchase the desired gift or toy and bring it back to the Tree of Joy in the Old Mill District or at various other Tree of Joy drop-sites around Bend. Nearly 1,000 individuals a year benefit from the kindness and generosity of the Tree of Joy program, which dates back to 1984.

To participate in the Tree of Joy, simply go to SantaLand in the Old Mill District – located this year in the former Gymboree space between REI and Tumalo Art Co. – and select tags from the tree. You’ll need to return your gifts back to SantaLand by Dec. 15 or the Hampton Inn & Suites by Dec. 18.

SantaLand is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the following days: November 29-December 1, December 6-8, December 13-15, December 19-23.

Thank you in advance for participating in this wonderful program and for making Christmas for a child or family in need.
