Enjoy outdoor dining year-round with these patios
Great food and drinks just seem to go better with a little bit of the great outdoors.
Fortunately, here in Bend our food and drink scene includes multiple outdoor patios and fire pits that stay open throughout the colder months.
At Anthony’s, you’ll enjoy riverfront dining and not one but three fire pits to keep you warm and toasty as the sun sets. Located near the pedestrian footbridge, Anthony’s patio offers spectacular views of the Deschutes River and the Cascades.
Looking to take in the sunset with a great Northwest cab or red blend? Cozy up on Va Piano’s back patio which looks out over the river almost directly across from the Les Schwab Amphitheater. If you’re thinking about a more elevated view, check out Level 2’s outdoor seating area above Saxon’s Fine Jewelers.
At Greg’s Grill, fancy hot chocolates along the largest fire pit in the Old Mill District make for a great way to wind down with the family. Pastini and its two outdoor fireplaces along the Deschutes also makes for a nice gathering spot with a crowd. In the same neighborhood, Flatbread offers outdoor seating and an indoor-outdoor fireplace that provides plenty of ambiance. Also on the north end of the Old Mill District is Naked Winery, which fires up its gas fire pit when the days get a little cooler.
Farthest up river, south of the footbridge, is Red Robin and its wraparound deck. Diners can take in all the activity at the Old Mill District from Red Robin’s outdoor seating, including joggers and walkers on both sides of the river trail and the constant flow of kayakers and canoers during the warmer months. It’s also a great spot to check out all the action during Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe’s Holiday Lights Paddle on Dec. 14.
Finally, if you’re looking to be in the heart of the action, grab your favorite espresso drink from Strictly Organic and revel in the Old Mill District’s most active intersection.
