Cozy up to the fire

There’s something special about sitting fireside while sharing stories with friends and family. Fortunately, here in the Old Mill District our food and drink scene includes multiple outdoor patios and firepits that stay open even during the colder months!

Fireside Sunset in the Old Mill District

Located near the pedestrian footbridge, Anthony’s patio offers spectacular views of the Deschutes River and the sprawling mountains. Here you’ll enjoy riverfront dining and three firepits to keep you warm and toasty as the sun tucks itself behind the Cascades.

Looking to take in the sunset with a great Northwest cab or red blend? Cozy up on Va Piano’s back patio which looks out over the river almost directly across from the Hayden Homes Amphitheater, or mosey up to Evoke Winery to sip and savor the views of our hot pond and northern footbridge.

For a more elevated view check out Rapa Nui’s outdoor seating above Saxon’s Fine Jewelers. Their tiki lounge vibes and signature Island Old Fashion or Tahitian Rum Punch will surely warm you up from the inside out.

At Greg’s Grill, fancy hot chocolates nestled against the largest fire pit in the Old Mill District make for a great way to wind down with the family after a glorious Bend winter day. Pastini and its two outdoor fireplaces along the Deschutes also make for a picture-perfect gathering spot for you and your crew. In the same neighborhood, Flatbread offers outdoor seating and an indoor-outdoor fireplace that provides plenty of ambiance and all the Neapolitan pizza you can dream of.

Patio Dining at Pastini in the Old Mill Distsrict

Tucked behind Jimmy John’s on the east side of the Old Mill District lives our not-so-hidden gem Boxwood Kitchen. On bluebird days they love to roll up the sliding doors to invite in the fresh air. It’s a proven fact Korean Fried Chicken, Steelhead Fillets and Flourless Chocolate Cake taste better outside.

If you’re looking to be in the heart of the action, head towards center plaza and stop by Central Oregon’s longest standing specialty coffee roaster, Sister’s Coffee Company, the newest addition to the Old Mill District known for their premium coffee blends and homemade baked goods.

South of the flag bridge is Red Robin and its lovely wraparound deck. This is the perfect location to enjoy bottomless fry baskets while taking in all the activity at the Old Mill District including joggers, walkers and wildlife on both sides of the river trail.

90 degrees from Red Robin tucked next to Regal Cinemas is Hola! Nuevo Peruvian Cuisine whose new patio space has made for a whole new Hola! Experience. Sources say this is the best place in town to enjoy a helping of fresh ceviche and custom margaritas.
