Raise your cocktail game this holiday season

Add a bit of creativity to your whiskey cocktails using a combination of sugars and spice. Thanks for putting this together Savory Spice!

Serves 2

1 3/4 cups whiskey

Choice of spice infusion:

3 Tbsp. brown sugar

1/4 cup water

.05 oz Chipotle (Morita) Chiles

1/2 tsp. Dehydrated Minced Orange Peel

1/4 cup Pure Maple Sugar

1/4 cup water

1/2 tsp. Pure Espresso Powder

1/4 cup Vanilla Bean Sugar

1/4 cup water

1 Tbsp. Mulling Spices

First, choose one of the spice infusion options. Combine the sugar, water, and spices for the infusion in a small saucepan.

Simmer over medium heat just until the sugar has dissolved, about 3 minutes. Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Pour the syrup (with spices) into a 2-cup jar with a lid. Add whiskey, seal jar, and gently shake to combine. Let sit in a cool, dark spot at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours depending on how strong you want the infusion to be.

Taste after 24 hours and decide if you want to go longer. Strain infused whiskey into a clean container and discard the spice material. Return whiskey back to the jar. Sip and enjoy! Can be stored at room temperature
