Treat yourself to these winter delights

January 12, 2018

Nothing soothes the soul during a streak of cold weather like hot soup, a sizzling steak or a mouth-watering wood-fired pizza.

It’s science. Look it up.

With the temperatures dropping, here’s a look at some of our favorite winter meals in Bend that are sure to banish the chill from your bones.

The porterhouse from Greg’s Grill is the meal that keeps on giving.

Butternut bisque from Level 2: Coconut milk and butternut squash puree make this soup oh so good. Level 2’s French onion is well worth your time as well.

Anthony’s lobster dinner (above): Every day is better when it ends with lobster from the best seafood restaurant in Central Oregon. Yes, it’s as delicious as it looks.

The porterhouse at Greg’s Grill: Yes, it’s OK to fantasize about this wonderful cut of meat. Better yet, enjoy it with a classic cocktail like an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan.

Kona Mix Plate’s bulgogi and kalua pork mix plate with PotatoMac salad: Piles of slow-cooked meat with a little bit of Hawaiian love. Need I say more?

Pepperoni, sausage and Portobello mushroom pizza from Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzaria: One of Flatbread’s traditional Neapolitan pizzas, this classic pie will take your palate to southern Italy the moment it hits your mouth.

Best. Pizza. Ever. Flatbread’s pepperoni, sausage and Portobello mushroom pie of goodness.
