Deschutes River Cleanup
July 30, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
What: Annual Deschutes River Clean-Up
Who: The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, the City of Bend, Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe, Bend Parks and Recreation District, and community volunteers.
When: 10am to 1pm on Saturday, July 30th, 2022
Where: Volunteers will meet at a variety of locations along the Deschutes River at 10am. River cleanup activities will take place along the Deschutes River and its riparian areas between Meadow Camp Picnic Area and Tumalo State Park.
Why: A special day for watershed stewards of all ages to get their hands dirty and feet wet, this year’s Deschutes River Cleanup will be focused on cleaning up the river we all love. The Park District and the Watershed Council have worked closely together on the riparian and instream restoration projects at Farewell Bend Park, Riverbend Park, and First Street Rapids and the Deschutes River Cleanup is an opportunity for us to come together to steward the Deschutes River and its riparian areas. Recreation in and around the Deschutes River has led to significant impacts to river health. In order to keep our river beautiful and protect water quality for fish and wildlife, the Watershed Council coordinates the Deschutes River Cleanup every year.
