Multiplatinum artist John Legend is an American singer, songwriter, actor, producer, coach on the Voice and philanthropist. At an early age, John grew up singing in the church choir, learning to play piano from his grandmother.
During his prolific and multi-faceted career, Legend has accumulated eleven Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award, and an Emmy Award. Winning these awards makes him one of 16 people and the first black man to have achieved all four of the major American entertainment awards (EGOT). His music is a blend of R&B, soulful music graceful piano playing, and alluring voice turned him into an unmistakable legend.
Legend has released six celebrated albums including his debut album, Get Lifted (2004), followed by his sophomore release Once Again (2006), Darkness and Light (2016) and most recently Bigger Love in June of 2020. He describes his latest release as a “celebration of love, joy, sensuality, hope and resilience and the things that make our culture so beautiful and influential.”
